E-Stamp vs Traditional Duck Stamp
A Change to the Program - The Duck Stamp Modernization Act
- Pursuant to Federal Law - Duck Stamp Modernization Act of 2023 - all E-Stamps will be mailed out AFTER March 10, of the following year, regardless of where or when they are purchased.
- DuckStamp.com is required to follow Federal Law and is NOT allowed to mail any E-Stamp prior to March 10, for the current season.
- This does not affect the mailing of traditional duck stamps, purchased on this website.
Difference Between a "Traditional" Duck Stamp and the "E-Stamp"
TRADITIONAL DUCK STAMP - Is valid for legal hunting requirements & supports vital wildlife habitat conservation

- A physical stamp that you attach to your hunting license. You must carry this stamp on your person at all times when hunting.
- By purchasing on this website, you will receive the physical stamp in the mail in approximately 5-7 business days.
- No digital copy or printable receipt is available for immediate use. You must wait to hunt until you receive the physical stamp in the mail.
E-STAMP - Is valid for legal hunting requirements & supports vital wildlife habitat conservation
- Will be available for purchase July 1, 2025 on DuckStamp.com for the 2025-2026 season.
- After July 1, your E-Stamp purchase will include both a Digital Pass and a printable Proof of Purchase as your immediate and only permit for the entire 2025-26 hunting season.
- TO BE COMPLIANT WITH FEDERAL LAW: You MUST carry one of the following when hunting or entering any Federal Wildlife Refuge: printed Proof of Purchase OR Digital Pass
- Physical stamp mailed AFTER March 10, 2026.
